The Three Crowns is a thriving community pub, welcoming locals and their dogs, and families set on celebrating a special occasion. Lots of greenery inside and out here, with the little village green at the front and the conservatory restaurant hosting some large pot-plants. The village sits in rich farming countryside on a low ridge above the River Avon and there are lovely views from the pub’s secluded beer garden and tree-shaded patio, where heaters bring additional comfort as the evenings draw in. Amiable staff greet you in the cosy, beamed bar, where ales include Fuller’s London Pride. The menu has long been recognised for its ambition and variety. Expect starters like cauliflower cheese beignet with tomato sauce; or home-smoked duck and orange, walnut and watercress salad. Follow that with Parma ham wrapped monkfish loin, crushed potatoes, samphire and smoked bacon cream; roasted butternut risotto; or confit pork belly, wholegrain mustard mash, cream leeks and baby vegetables.
