A red-brick Edwardian pub overlooking the Lymington slipway and river, The Mayflower makes good use of its coastal position with a nautical theme throughout the bar, restaurant and bedrooms. Diners can tuck into modern British dishes conjured from Hampshire and south coast ingredients, so perhaps start with Lymington crab, gnocchi and white parsley sauce and move on to smoked sausage and chicken casserole with homemade bread or seafood pappardelle and tomato ragout. To finish, try the warm treacle tart with rum and raisin ice cream. There's a large garden with picnic tables and a terrace for alfresco dining.
