Introduced in 2017, the AA Restaurant with Rooms of the Year award recognises an AA-rated guest accommodation that is also a dining destination.
The Lodge on Loch Goil, Lochgoilhead, Argyll and Bute
The first impressions here will live long in the memory. A peaceful retreat in a stunning, sheltered lochside setting. The lodge has an arts and crafts heritage featuring hand painted wallpaper, stained glass by Daniel Cottier, parquet floors and oak throughout, individually chosen furnishings.
It has been a real labour of love for the current owners to restore over the past fifteen years. Rooms are very individual, from a summer house jutting out over the water to a superb suite with wrap around balcony.
Guests can also relax in a loch-side tree house and even arrive by boat or sea plane. A small walled kitchen garden feeds into imaginative cuisine in the evening and superb breakfasts to wake up to. Hospitality is generously given, ensuring the warmest of Scottish welcomes.
