To help us with any query you may have about your renewal, we'll need:

  • Either the 16-digit code on your membership card or your insurance policy number from your policy documents

  • Your name, address and date of birth

  • Details of your query

For your security, only the main policyholder can contact us and discuss the renewal.

What happens next?

Your request will be sent off to our renewals team. We'll be in touch with you within 5 working days.

If we have enough information, we'll complete your request and email you with an update. If we need some more details, somebody will call you.

Can I pause my car insurance?

No, you can't pause your car insurance. It's a legal requirement to have valid car insurance unless you apply for a Statutory Off Road Notification. If your car has a SORN and you want to cancel your insurance, call us on 0370 533 2211.

Although you might not be driving your car, keeping it insured will cover you for theft and vandalism.

Can I pause my breakdown cover?

You can pause your breakdown cover but there are certain circumstances when you won't be able to:


  • You won’t be able to pause your breakdown cover if you pay monthly.
  • You also can't pause it if you have Breakdown Repair Cover (Parts and Garage Cover), Smart Breakdown or Onward Travel. These would need to be removed and refunded as they can't be paused.
  • Finally, if you have less than 30 days left on your annual cover until renewal, we can't pause breakdown cover.
What happens to my Member benefits if I pause my breakdown cover?
You can't use any Member benefits if you pause your breakdown cover. Also, if you have key insurance, this will be removed. You will need to let us know to reactivate it once you restart your breakdown cover.
