Change your vehicle

It's easy to update your details

Fill in a change of vehicle form

To change your vehicle we'll need your:

  • AA membership number (16-digit code on membership card or in your app)

  • Old vehicle number plate

  • New vehicle make, model, number plate and year of registration

For your security, only the main AA Member can change vehicle details.

We won't be able to change your vehicle if:

  • You've got parts and garage (known as breakdown repair) cover with us

  • You've taken out any insurance with us

No problem though, see if you can update your details another way.

What happens next?
Your old vehicle details will be replaced with the new ones within 14 days. But if we can’t make this change for any reason, we’ll email you.
Got parts and garage (known as breakdown repair) cover with us?
Call us on 0343 316 4444 to update your details. Lines are open Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm, Saturday 9am to 5pm, Closed Sundays. Calls charged at standard national rate.
Getting a motorbike, van or other vehicle?

As long as it's under 3.5 tonnes, less than 7 feet 6 inches (2.3 metres) wide, you can use this form to update your details. These dimensions cover most cars, motorbikes and small vans.

Do you need to change any other vehicles?

Filling in this form will only replace the old vehicle details you entered. If other vehicles are covered under your policy, they won't be affected.
