Behind the scenes of our Pride van wraps

Our vans get a tecnicolour makeover

Our yellow vans are iconic in their own right – but some of them have been given an extra special look for Pride 2018, celebrating the UK’s LGBT+ community.

Fleet Livery Solutions (FLS) used an innovative product from 3M to wrap 10 of our vans with a twist on Pride’s distinctive rainbow colours. The design combines the Pride rainbow with our usual livery, which features a giant yellow-gradient beam on each van’s side.

The material used for the rainbow wraps, Print Wrap Film 780mc-10R by 3M, is the first of its kind, giving impressive visibility and maximum design impact – day and night.

“When the sun hits it it’s really vibrant, and at night it shines – just like switching a light on – so the design really stands out.”
Ashley Gloyn, FLS Managing Director

FLS, who’ve been wrapping all AA vans for 7 years and manufacturing the graphics for them for 4, spent 3 days applying the wraps at a site in Banbury, Oxfordshire. The vans have since hit roads across the length and breadth of the UK.

They’re also being tracked by eagle-eyed competition entrants – anyone who uploads a pic of a wrapped van to our Facebook page by midnight on 8 July is in with a chance of winning some big prizes.

Pen Webley, marketing manager for the 3M Commercial Solutions division, said: “We’re delighted to have been a part of this project. The vans look fantastic and will certainly be something for the AA to be proud of at the Pride in London Parade.”
