1. The prize
1.1 These terms and conditions apply to the Spot the Elf prize draw. The opening date for entries is 9:00 on 15 December 2025. The closing date for the prize draw is 23:59 on 29 December 2025. Entries received after this time will not be counted.
1.2 The AA will give away 5 individual prizes to be drawn from answers that correctly count the number of elves in the social post creative and enter the competition as detailed in the terms below.
1.3 The prize for this draw is one of 5 £50 Amazon Vouchers (the “Prize”). The winners will be chosen by random draw. All entries must be submitted via relevant AA social media post on Facebook or Instagram as set out in paragraph 3 below. The Prize is subject to availability.

2. Promoter's name and address
2.1 The promoter of the free prize draw is Automobile Association Developments Limited of Level 3, Plant, Basing View, Basingstoke, Hampshire RG21 4HG ('The AA').
3. How to participate in the prize draw
3.1 To enter this free prize draw, please go to https://www.facebook.com/TheAAUK or https://www.instagram.com/theaa_uk and count the number of elves in the social media post. You will then need to comment the number of elves you’ve counted, like the post, and follow the AA page in the social media platform where you added your comment.
3.2 You will need a personal Facebook or Instagram account and internet access to enter.
3.3 The AA's decision as to the acceptability of all entries is final, and any comments posted on social media posts which do not relate to the Prize, or with wrong answers, will not be counted as valid entries.
3.4 Each individual may only enter this free prize draw once across all social media channels relevant to the prize draw. Any duplicate entries will be disregarded.
3.5 No purchase or payment is necessary to enter the free prize draw or to win.
3.6 By entering this free prize draw, you accept these terms and conditions.
4. Start date
4.1 This free prize draw will start at 9:00 GMT on 15 December 2025.
5. End date
5.1 The closing date and time for the free prize draw will be 23:59 on 29 December 2025.
6. Eligibility
6.1 The free prize draw is only open to residents of the UK who are aged 18 or over.
6.2 The following individuals aren't eligible to enter or win this free prize draw:
6.2.1. employees of The AA or its holding subsidiary companies;
6.2.2 employees of agents or suppliers of The AA or its holding or subsidiary companies, who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration, and;
6.2.3 members of the immediate families of the individuals identified in 6.2.1 and 6.2.2.
6.3 By entering the free prize draw you confirm that you are eligible to do so, and eligible to claim the prize or any prize you may win. The AA may require you to provide proof.
6.4 Entries not in accordance with these terms and conditions won't be counted and will be excluded.
6.5 The AA's decision as to the acceptability of all entries is final. Entries which are (as applicable): received after the closing date and time, incomplete, misspelled, incomprehensible, or are otherwise not in accordance with the instructions given by The AA won't be entered into the free prize draw.
6.6 The AA accepts no responsibility for entries not successfully completed or submitted due to a technical fault (such as a technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, satellite, network or server failure) of any kind and/or where applicable. Where applicable, The AA accepts no responsibility for any entries which aren't completed for any reason.
7. Selection of the winner
7.1 The winners will be selected at random from all the eligible entries received. Only correct answers are entered into the draw.
7.2 This will be done by an automated process, or a process that will be conducted or supervised by an independent person.
7.3 The winners will be notified by a comment response to their original comment on The AA's relevant social media post that was used to enter the competition, by no later than 12 January 2026. To claim the Prize, the winner will be asked to provide their name and email address via direct message by no later than 23:59 on 21 January 2026 to enable The AA to verify their eligibility in accordance with clause 6.
7.4 The Prize may not be claimed by a third party on your behalf.
7.5 The AA accepts no responsibility if you're not able to claim the Prize.
7.6 The Prize will be sent to each winner via email following the provision of the details required in accordance with clause 7.3 above. If a winner hasn't received the voucher by 23:59 on 30 January 2026, please contact The AA through The AA's social media channels.
7.7 The prize is awarded conditionally upon acceptance, and if a winner doesn't provide the requested details by 23:59 on 21 January 2026 in accordance with clause 7.3 above, the winner's prize shall be deemed as unclaimed or unaccepted, and a supplementary winner may be drawn at The AA's sole discretion.
7.8 The AA retains the right to substitute the Prize with another prize of equal or higher value in the event the original Prize offered isn't available, or circumstances beyond The AA's control make it necessary to do so.
7.9 The prize isn't negotiable, exchangeable or transferable for any other product or service or a cash alternative, and isn't available for resale.
7.10 The decision of The AA is final. No correspondence will be entered into regarding the outcome.
8. Limitation of liability
8.1 In so far as is permitted by law, The AA, its agent or distributors won't in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner, or accept liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the Prize, except where it is caused by the negligence of The AA, its agents or distributors, or that of their employees. Your statutory rights aren't affected.
8.2 Under no circumstances will The AA's aggregate liability to you for any and all claims arising under these terms and conditions, and/or the free prize draw, which don't fall within clause 8.1 above exceed £50.00.
9. Data protection and publicity
9.1 The winner may be invited to take part in future publicity.
9.2 The AA will use your personal data for the purpose of the management of the free prize draw, including to assess your eligibility for the free prize draw and to administer the competition. Please see The AA's full privacy notice for more information.
9.3 The AA must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. We are required to make the forename, surname and the country of the winner available upon request.
9.4 If you object to any or all of your surname, country and winning entry being published or made available, please contact The AA, or through The AA's social media channels. In such circumstance, The AA must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
10. General
10.1 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, The AA may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the free prize draw.
10.2 You understand that this free prize draw promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Amazon, Facebook or Instagram, and you hereby provide a complete release to Amazon, Facebook and Instagram of any responsibility for this free prize draw.
10.3 The AA reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel or amend the free prize draw where it has become necessary to do so for any reason.
10.4 These terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement between you and The AA, and supersedes and extinguishes all previous agreements, promises, assurances, warranties, representations and understandings between us, whether written or oral, relating to its subject matter.
10.5 These terms and conditions (and any issues or disputes arising) shall be governed by English Law, and The AA and entrants to the free prize draw submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
