Just a minute from the M1 and at the gateway to the Peak District, Aston Hall dates from 1772 but has been tastefully restored over the years. Surrounded by 55 acres of gardens, it’s a magnificent and luxurious setting on the edge of Sheffield. With neutral colours and candlelit tables, the restaurant is an elegant backdrop for the seasonal cooking. Begin with rabbit and chorizo tagliatelle and tarragon cream sauce and follow it with seared duck breast, roast new potatoes, braised cabbage, sautéed carrots and stewed plums. End with lemon, lime and poppy seed cake with lemon and mint sorbet.
