Occupying an enviable spot in a Victorian, seafront hotel, the Salt Cellar is run by an independent team with a passion for prime Pembrokeshire produce. With its grey tones and unclothed tables, the setting is appropriately bright and modern and the kitchen doesn’t try to reinvent the culinary wheel, sending out a vibrant starter of Little Haven crab with carrot salad and cucumber and chilli dressing, followed by roast rump and shoulder of lamb pointed up with a sunny Mediterranean salsa verde and warm feta, tomato and black olive salad. A moist pistachio and olive oil cake with sharp raspberry gel, lemon curd and meringue makes a fine finale.
