Wash Farm is the hub of the Riverford brand (they have farms around the country now), delivering organically grown fruit and veg across the land. Hunker down here at communal tables for hearty organic food, a fixed deal of whatever is on-the-money that day, always teeming with superlative vegetable and salad accompaniments. Start with roasted broccoli, shaved fennel and spiced cashews in blood-orange and ginger dressing, or griddled leeks with raisins and red onion - winning combinations both. Main course could be duck breast and leg with white beans and cavolo nero, with a cavalcade of veg accompaniments including baked swede, cheesy parsnips and balsamic onions.
