This converted 1920s barge has been moored in the heart of Bristol’s Harbourside area since 1986 and still appeals to locals and city visitors alike. A handsome restaurant with walnut floors, a beautiful marble bar and lovely river views, the menu offers modern French bistro fare with plenty of imagination. Begin with fried duck egg, wild mushrooms and brioche, perhaps followed by slow-roast pork belly, Morteau sausage, white beans and mustard. Those willing to share can order a roast Normandy chicken with Anna potatoes and roasting juices for two. Finish with chocolate fondant, praline and salted caramel ice cream.
