Bluebells stands out from the crowd with its sleek modern looks and upbeat, buzzy ambience. The kitchen works a modern British groove, allowing that old stager, chicken liver parfait, to get a kick from red Muscadet wine jelly, quince chutney, poached pear and toasted hazelnuts. A meticulously sourced main course partners Blythburgh pork tenderloin with crispy pig's head, wilted kale, roasted garlic foam and potato fritters. Or you might opt for fish, with a cassoulet uniting monkfish with mussels, white beans, chorizo and saffron. Service remains expert and relaxed all the way through to a finale of vanilla and praline crème brûlée with chestnut ice cream and vanilla macaroons.
