Ian and Anna Bell’s village pub enjoys an enviable setting right next to the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal in the heart of the National Park. Beer festivals in mid-June and mid-October are very popular, and there’s never a lack of enthusiastic custom for the ever-changing choice of real ales – over 500 guests a year are served here. Start with Thai fishcakes or homemade soup of the day, followed by grilled Welsh lamb chops; pan-seared tuna steak; or a pub classic like pork and leek sausages and mash. There’s a daily crème brûlée, or maybe apple and cinnamon crumble.
