Friendly village pub a short walk from Yarmouth Harbour

At a glance

Bar menu
Open all year

Its two big gables and red-brick walls give no indication of its great age but, like the neighbouring church, the pub's origins go back to the 11th century. Beers served include Fuggle-Dee-Dum and Sharp's Doom Bar in the shiny-flagstoned bar, where settles and sofas partner well-scrubbed pine tables. Meals feature herbs and vegetables from the pub’s large garden, and many other ingredients are from elsewhere on the island or its coastal waters. Menu fixtures include crab mornay with toasted ciabatta; beer-battered fresh fish; daily changing pies; and home-made tagliatelle. Further choice is afforded by specials.
