The Glenuig Inn, on a no-through road and right beside a stunning beach on the Sound of Arisaig, is a popular base for sea-kayakers. The emphasis here is ‘as local as we can get it’ and this philosophy applies to the bar, where ale from Cairngorm is served, and the kitchen, where menus are prepared using organic seasonal ingredients wherever possible. A typical selection might include Glenuig hot smoked salmon, followed by Skye lamb tagine or home-made venison burger, and chocolate and chilli tart to finish. The inn's owners are committed to 'going green', and since 2015 they have run on 100% renewable energy resulting in zero carbon emissions, so it’s no wonder they have a gold award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme.
