A brand new award, this is the AA’s ultimate accolade for hotels in the UK. It is awarded to outstanding examples of a spa hotel.
Rudding Park, Harrogate, North Yorkshire
Set in beautiful parkland, Rudding Park dates from the early 19th century and the interiors are stylishly contemporary and elegant. Dining options include the relaxed two AA Rosette Clocktower with its striking pink chandelier; a bar and conservatory leading to the terrace, perfect for dining alfresco; and Horto, (Latin for ‘garden’) which showcases produce from the hotel’s own kitchen garden in innovative dishes (Rosettes currently suspended).
During the 19th century Harrogate was a fashionable spa town, its health-giving iron- and sulphur-rich natural springs and elegant promenades proving popular with the wealthy. Now Rudding Park aims to recapture this heritage, using natural waters from the grounds.
Since opening in 2017, the new spa has proved a truly exceptional destination, with the fantastic Roof Top infinity pool offering a range of hydrotherapy and thermal experiences, the Escape Zone for treatments, a Nail and Beauty Studio, and Horto Café for healthy eating choices. You can also choose to have some treatments in the beautiful Roof Top gardens.
