Skelwith Fold Caravan Park, Ambleside, Cumbria
‘Without a shadow of a doubt this is one of the best campsites I have stayed on or visited’ stated our inspector following his visit to this exceptional caravan park. Described by Professor David Bellamy as a ‘wildlife wonderland’, Skelwith Fold is very much in tune with the 130 acres of natural oak woodland within which it sits and through which a network of paths has been created. Very high quality is at the forefront of every aspect of this site, with first-class toilets for the able and less able, as well as outstanding private family toilet facilities. The needs of tourers are met through generously sized hardstanding pitches in peaceful woodland glades. The views of nearby Loughrigg Fell from the five-acre family recreation area are truly outstanding, as is the children’s adventure play area. Wildlife watching and walking are readily available within the park and four luxurious ‘hideaway pods’ with every amenity are located in a prime location for watching wildlife; all are for hire. Skelwith Fold is a unique blend of sublime rural idyll and modern and extremely high quality amenities delivering exactly what the discerning visitor is looking for when planning their visit to the beautiful Lake District National Park. There truly is something for everybody here.
