The unassuming location amid a parade of shops belies this restaurant's ambition. Fixed-price menus tend to the lighter at lunch, perhaps for a soft-cooked duck's egg with butterscotch cap mushrooms in chicken gravy, followed by a tranche of roast cod in seaweed butter with a bundle of marine flora - sea-aster, sea-cabbage and samphire. In the evening, the repertoire extends to hay-seared venison 'sashimi' with apple and smoked celeriac, sea bass with fermented garlic, and beef cheek with truffled polenta and a king oyster. You'll need a will of iron to resist sticky toffee pudding served in a Tate & Lyle Golden Syrup tin with Madagascar vanilla ice cream.
