Lima’s Covent Garden outpost offers a more casual setting than its Fitzrovia flagship, but the blast of South American vivacity is still a big draw. Deep-fried king prawn and squid marinated in ají Amarillo chilli paste come with sweet potato purée revved up with coriander and garlic, or you might open with sea bream ceviche marinated in zesty tiger’s milk. Peru pretty much invented the potato, and a fine tuber grown at 4,000 metres turns up in mains alongside superb organic lamb rump coated in herbs and coffee dust. To finish, gold-standard Palo Blanco chocolate is turned into a rich mousse, and served with toasted cereal and shards of purple potato.
