Modern art, stylish furnishings and boutique bedrooms make a fine impression at this restaurant with rooms where the smart restaurant offers a carte and two tasting menus (one offering the best of Kentish produce). Kick off with ham hock terrine partnered with tomato and apple chutney and toasted brioche. Among main courses, leg of guinea fowl is cooked slowly au vin, and arrives with dauphinoise potatoes, red cabbage and green beans. Desserts are a refined and comforting bunch, from lemon tart with chewy meringue and raspberry sorbet, to raspberry soufflé with white chocolate ice cream and crunchy pieces of honeycomb.
