Tucked away behind City Hall, this capacious red-brick former linen mill makes a serene and understated setting for refined, French-accented food, as witnessed in a starter of coffee-roasted carrots pointed up with crème fraîche and tarragon vinegar caramel. Regional ingredients take a leading role, such as the local monkfish, John Dory and hake in a signature Irish Sea bouillabaisse, or the Baronscourt Estate venison that is partnered with turnip and a mushroom 'cottage pie'. Bargain lunch and pre- and post-theatre options keep things affordable, and there are tasting menus with matching wines if you're going for broke. To finish, dark chocolate and black cherries make an intense version of clafoutis.
