A welcoming and dog-friendly pub on the edge of the Savernake Forest, the Three Tuns combines the traditional charms of a local village inn with an excellent selection of carefully prepared tempting dishes. Everything from bread to ice cream is made on the premises, and you might kick off a meal with half a pint of prawns with aïoli and toast, or the excellent smoked pork rib mac 'n' cheese. If you're still craving the comfort of pasta, try the simple but delicious trofie with ox cheek ragù and pecorino. Chocolate pot with toasted marshmallow fluff is a suitably indulgent dessert.
