The grand Regency manor house is a popular wedding venue, with the Marlborough Downs and attractive gardens providing a stunning backdrop, and the M4 nearby. The restaurant is a bright space with crisp white linen on the tables and a cheerful service team. The cooking takes a fine-dining stance, with lots going on and an eye for presentation. A starter of potted duck liver parfait comes with black truffle butter, piccalilli and Melba toast, then main-course pressed belly of pork is served with chorizo hash, apple fritter and black mustard seed dressing. For dessert, baked apple crumble cheesecake comes with pistachio brittle and lemon curd ice cream.
