Bilash has been pushing beyond the confines of mere curry since 1982. The stylishly clean-cut interior works a colourful decor, with high-backed seats at wooden tables and walls hung with modern Indian-themed prints, a smart contemporary setting that reflects the kitchen's creative roll call of Bangladeshi and Indian dishes. Start with jalpari kebab - saffron-flavoured fish rolls stuffed with prawns - or spicy chicken patties, then follow with palak gosht (spiced lamb with spinach), hot Bengali-style fish curry, or chicken tikka in spicy tomato sauce. Vegetarian dishes, among them bhindi bhaji, and sundries like naan are well up to the mark, and don't miss out on a pudding.
