This fascinating pub's Tudor origins - low ceilings, mighty ships' timbers, quarry tiles - are impossible to miss. The bar has a raised gallery, an elegant dining room and a secluded courtyard. The kitchen produces globally influenced modern cooking that has won a heap of awards. So, how about confit of Gressingham duck roulade, duck liver parfait, roast celeriac and rhubarb chutney? Or you might prefer Blythburgh pork loin wrapped in Parma ham and braised belly, fondant potato, cavolo nero, chantenay carrots, black pudding fritter and grain mustard sauce. And let's not overlook lemon and pine nut parfait with confit orange, orange jelly and meringue for dessert.
