A nautical-themed mural and piscine prints leave no doubt that fresh local seafood, often landed on the beach, is the main thrust of the Mabeys' restaurant on the High Street. It's a cheery, relaxed place, with brown leather-look banquettes and upholstered dining chairs at plain wooden tables, and a blackboard of daily specials supporting the carte. Wild boar and beetroot arancini - a daily special - gets things off to a flying start, followed perhaps by pan-fried sea bass with chorizo, peppers and artichokes, or whole smoked prawns from their smoker out back. Round things off with rice pudding and a Kilner jar of 'almost plum jam'.
