Contemporary bistro cooking in a Georgian setting

Woods stands in a very 'Bath' setting, occupying the ground floor of five Georgian townhouses, and its comfortable bistro look is pretty much timeless. The cooking is broadly European, with French and Italy to the fore, and a British flavour here and there. A first course dish of grilled White Lake goats' curd with red pepper confit, crushed hazelnuts and vanilla honey is a vibrant construction. Confit of chicken leg with peas, Dijon mustard and herby cream sauce is a bistro classic, or there might be Brixham crab linguine with a red Thai curry sauce and baby coriander. Finish with New York-style cheesecake with raspberry sauce.
