Fine local produce by the Norfolk coast

The wide-open skies of Norfolk's fabulous coast make Heacham Manor an attractive prospect, and the place even comes with its own coastal golf course. Originally built as an Elizabethan manor, the hotel has been brought smartly up-to-date and its airy conservatory-style Mulberry Restaurant has been extended and modernised. The kitchen's output is simple, contemporary and makes good use of local ingredients. Kick off with pan-seared scallops with confit pork belly and apple purée, follow up with chargrilled rib-eye with roasted shallots and wild mushrooms, or crab and green pea risotto enriched with lemon mascarpone. Finish with rum baba or a pretty-looking Baileys pannacotta.
