A touch of boutique styling has been sprinkled over this white-painted Victorian terrace, and these days it's a rather cool hotel, restaurant and bar, with a spruce look of fashionable muted pastel tones and a distinct lack of chintz. The restaurant is filled with blond wood with nary a tablecloth in sight and is a bright and breezy environment for the cooking, which fits the bill to a T. The cooking treads a contemporary path offering up lemon tiger prawn cocktail with butter crumb and Bloody Mary sauce, followed by slow-cooked ox cheek with salt-baked carrot and bourguignon sauce, and glazed lemon tart to finish.
