The stripped-back interior of the old workshop is a very modern setting with large windows to give a view of the street action. The menu makes much of provenance and there's a satisfying regional flavour to the food. Things might kick off with torched Sykes Fell ewes cheese, served with roasted figs, golden beetroot, hibiscus and ruby port syrup, moving on to a pan-roasted north Atlantic halibut fillet, baby turnips, cocotte potatoes, crispy Cumbrian air dried ham and leek, and finishing off with mille feuille of dark and milk chocolate with hazelnut cream, marinated blackberry, Earl Grey ice cream and poppy tuile.
