The curtain opened on this theatreland dining institution and celeb haunt over a century ago and the Ivy's performance is still a classy act that offers something for everyone. Looking elegant after a redesign, the room's original harlequin stained-glass windows, green leather banquettes, mirrors and eye-catching modern artwork set the scene for a wide-ranging menu of classic British and international food. Start with a vibrant salad of squid, chorizo, datterini tomatoes, shaved fennel and preserved lemon, before cod fillet with asparagus, roasted salsify and seaweed butter, or good old shepherd's pie. Don't skip dessert - try malted milk pannacotta with salted caramel, cocoa nibs and honeycomb.
