The view from the 33rd floor of The Shard is stunning, particularly at night with the shimmering lights below. The room is a bit of a looker itself, with red lanterns and an open-to-view wood-fired oven where ducks are cooking and drying, ready for the classic two-stage Peking-style presentation. The kitchen turns out some classy dim sum at lunchtime - succulent lamb and leek dumplings, say - while the carte pays homage to Northern Chinese cuisine, with fiery Szechuan dishes having their say too. Wunan-style cod fillet tossed with crispy soya beans and chilli is an impressive main course, and there are sweet black sesame dumplings for dessert.
