Inspired by the grand boulevard cafés of Paris, the Colbert sits smack on Sloane Square and bustles with a wonderful feel-good vibe from breakfast to late evening, with a lengthy all-day menu that doesn't talk three-course formality. Grab eggs Benedict or croquet-monsieur to top-dollar Beluga caviar, or steak tartare to sea-fresh lemon sole goujons with tartare, or crank up the ante with Chateaubriand for two - there's something for every occasion. The essence of the cooking is clean simplicity, defined by premium ingredients and flavour without cheffy grandstanding. Blackboard specials (bouillabaisse perhaps) bolster output, while the bar gets rammed and street-side alfresco tables are a hot ticket.
