Spread over several floors amid the Victorian splendour of Leadenhall Market, Chamberlains buzzes with the power-lunch crowd from the city skyscrapers. There's an all-weather terrace beneath the market's glass roof, while huge windows in the buzzy ground-floor dining room and more intimate mezzanine make for good people-watching. Sea-fresh seafood is what to expect in a menu that sets off with roasted hand-dived Orkney scallops alongside mangalitza pork brawn, celeriac and apple, followed by a splendid loin of monkfish partnered with lobster jus and sweetcorn foam. Die-hard carnivores might head for Longhorn beef sirloin with confit shallots, turnip salad and horseradish butter. To finish, there’s iced chocolate parfait with mint jelly and fresh raspberries.
