Food of the Peruvian Andes comes to Soho

Canteen eating in the Peruvian style has to be another Soho first. Housed in a building that was a bolthole for actors and artists over the years, the Casita maintains links with its past – at least until the food starts emerging in dazzlingly colourful array. Pork and liver croquetas with rocoto chilli jam, sea bass ceviche given new piquancy with leche de tigre marinade bursting with red onion and coriander, and a hearty main dish of shredded chicken in amarillo chilli dressing with puréed olives, offer the tastebuds plenty to think about. The national spirit, pisco, marinates dried fruits to go with a quinoa-based custard tart in honey sauce.
