A pleasant white-walled space with wicker chairs and fish pictures, which gives you a clue as to what the forte is. The style is contemporary Anglo-French, as befits the location, seen in a starter of duck terrine with fig chutney and toasted brioche. Next up, a splendid piece of pan-fried cod, the flesh properly opalescent, is left to speak for itself, alongside crushed new potatoes, spinach, and beurre Nantais foam. You won't be neglected if you're set on meat, with the likes of honey-roasted duck breast with griottine cherries, caramelised red cabbage and fondant potato up for grabs. Dessert brings a perfectly risen mint chocolate chip soufflé and chocolate ice cream.
