This laid-back beach café and restaurant claims to the most southerly eatery in the British Isles, so kick back and bask in sun-kissed views over the sandy bay. The emphasis is on fish and shellfish, and the kitchen has the nous to treat them with a light touch to let the freshness and quality do the talking. Try a simple starter of crab, prawn and spring onion risotto with mascarpone. Next up, perhaps brill fillet with parmesan polenta, chargrilled Mediterranean vegetables, asparagus and sauce vièrge and to finish, a classic crème brûlée with sablé biscuits strikes a suitably Gallic note.
