The Pig is a restaurant for our times, with cocktails served in old jam jars and a massage available in the old potting shed. Here in the wilds of the New Forest, the main passion is for home-grown and foraged ingredients. It's a buzzy place with a retro interior, the Victorian greenhouse dining room providing an informal setting for rustic, flavour-focused dishes. There's simple satisfaction in a starter of crab on toast with pickled fennel and mizuna. Follow with pork chop, parsnips and apple sauce, or suet-crusted pork pie and garlic mash, and end on treacle tart and lemon curd with Dorset mascarpone.
