The whitewashed building may look like a storage-shed, but inside is a smartly appointed, high-ceilinged dining room where chef-proprietor Kevin Bingham runs a fixed-price carte or six-course tasting menus that showcase the kitchen's abilities. Flavours are captivating, as when silky haddock and prawn velouté is garnished with a raviolo of orange and pine nuts, and marinated foie gras gains in intensity from its accompaniments of Granny Smith apple, honey and ginger. At main course, 'umami duck' is juxtaposed with Ibérico chorizo and feta, or there could be sea bass with smoked pancetta in scallop and clam chowder. To finish, crème brûlée is sharpened with blackcurrant and star anise.
