In pole position among the buzzy bars and hip surfie shops of trendy Abersoch's main drag, this low-key bistro with a tea-shop frontage and mismatched chairs and tables is building a loyal fan base for its warm hospitality and confidently executed food with its roots in the Welsh countryside. Crisp lamb's tongue is neatly balanced with pickled shallots and a tart gribiche sauce spiked with mint, while perfectly-timed sea bass from Cardigan Bay stars in a main course with crisp ham, confit tomato and a vibrant dressing of brown shrimps and laverbread. To finish, honeycomb ice cream is a heavenly match with rosemary burnt cream.
