As barn conversions go, this one is rather impressive. Ifan Dunn turned the old granite building on the family farm into a snazzy modern restaurant with views over the Mawddach Estuary and the slopes of Cader Idris through a glass wall. The cool, contemporary interior, spread over two levels, has a vaulted ceiling upstairs and slate floors below. The cooking demonstrates bright ideas, taking in celeriac soup with Granny Smith apple and Perl Las organic blue cheese, then roast hake fillet with corn chips, cauliflower sauce, curry oil, curly kale and gremolata. For dessert, perhaps warm ginger cake with salted caramel ice cream.
