With floor-to-ceiling windows commanding views over the canal and the Lowry Bridge, The River Restaurant enjoys plenty of natural light, with glass and leather decor giving it a contemporary feel. The elegant surroundings are juxtaposed with informal, chatty service. Choose from an extensive wine list before kicking off with confit pork ravioli, consommé, girolles, spinach air and pork quavers. Follow on with a striking main course of stone bass with lobster risotto, spinach purée, squid ink pil pil and romesco and wrap up with bitter dark Caramélia chocolate mousse served with caramel gel, banana honeycomb and chocolate soil.
