The name reveals all, although the charm-laden grey stone building looks a little more grand country cottage than former farmstead. Some old pub favourites turn up for starters such as corned beef hash with beans and brown sauce, or you might prefer honey-roast parsnip soufflé with blue cheese crumble and a sesame tuile. Mains look beyond British shores for Moroccan-spiced rump and braised shoulder of lamb with toasted couscous, preserved lemon, apricot and almonds, while the oxtail-and-fish modern classic is given an outing here with plaice, sprout tops and burnt cucumber in red wine. The signature dessert is rich chocolate cake with stout ale ice cream and malted honeycomb.
