The Glasgow Mal has made its home in a deconsecrated Greek Orthodox church. A mix of traditional and modern French brasserie cooking is the draw, with crab Marie Rose to start, alongside less mainstream offerings such as a tartare constructed of sea bream, anchovies, red pepper and crème fraîche. Select breeds and cuts of thoroughbred beef are the backbone of main courses, but useful diversions include the sharply distinctive curry-dusted fillets of John Dory with leeks in a mussel-infused buttery sauce and Sauternes foam. Soufflé du jour is worth a look at dessert - a chocolate-crumbed mint version with a dollop of chocolate added at the last minute is a treat.
