It may be a long way from the original Harry s Bar in Venice but this Essex village namesake offers a similarly relaxed and stylish brasserie ambience. The seasonally-changing menu combines modern British dishes with more global influences. Curried scallops with coconut and coriander might be followed by jerk glazed gammon with gooseberry ketchup, sweet potato fries, roasted plum tomatoes and crispy onion rings. Toffee cheesecake with toffee ice cream is one way to finish. The wine list covers the best of the world’s regions and the expertly mixed cocktails can be enjoyed in the bar or on the terrace.
