The Chilli Pickle's interior works a contemporary rustic look, with chunky tables, blond-wood floors and vivid splashes of colour while full-length glass walls create the impression of dining alfresco. The menu gives subcontinental clichés a swerve, dealing at lunchtime in smartly reworked thalis, dosai and street-food-inspired dishes - chickpea and tapioca fritters, for instance, ahead of Punjabi lamb curry with chillies, fenugreek and garam masala. At dinner, the kitchen cranks things up with duck dumplings with orange and chilli chutney, followed by tandoor-baked half guinea fowl with korma gravy and biryani rice, or sea bass fillet with clams, mussels and prawns in coconut curry and coconut rice.
