A modern house in over five acres of land complete with stream and lake is the setting for this restaurant done out in shades of claret and gold, with contemporary artwork hanging on the walls. Cheese soufflé with watercress and horseradish sauce is a signature starter. Typical of the adventurous style is loin of veal with sautéed calves' sweetbreads, tomato confit, buttered spinach and a wild mushroom sauce, or brill on Puy lentils in saffron sauce with chorizo, courgettes and sunblush tomato. Innovative elements are introduced to puddings: chocolate and meringue ice cream for warm dark chocolate fondant, and crème brûlée flavoured with lemongrass, lemon and thyme.
