The teak-decked alfresco terrace of this 1920s art deco beauty offers views across Poole harbour but the glossy Harbar Bistro is an equally inviting prospect. Check out the fresh fish counter, laden with the day's catch from Poole Quay, to steer you towards a main course starring a pavé of cod supported by butterbean, pea and chorizo fricassée and sherry emulsion. Otherwise, start with pan-fried pigeon breast with Puy lentils and sloe gin syrup, followed, perhaps, by venison loin with fondant potato, caramelised onion, wilted spinach, chestnut purée, and Vin Santo and hazelnut jus. Wrap things up with pear and almond tart with vanilla ice cream.
