Waterside spot for simple seafood dining

A warm-hearted place with a casual atmosphere, where a friendly greeting gets everything off on the right foot. Super-fresh seafood is the name of the game, and it's all the better if you sit outside under the sail-like awning. Giant blackboards reveal what's on offer from crabs and lobsters, to fishy plates such as whole roasted gurnard with anchovy butter. Start with oysters (grilled with blue cheese and smoked bacon, say), and follow with a fruits de mer or a staggeringly good fillet of hake with roasted pepper, chorizo and mussels. Finish with cherry and chocolate brownie, and drink beer, cider or something from the short (mostly white) wine list.
