Set across different levels, the building was once home to several shops but beyond its stone façade is a contemporary restaurant with clean lines and muted shades of grey and beige. The menus make dishes sound misleadingly straightforward. A light and creamy soup with salted fresh scallops is garnished with a soft-boiled quail egg and Onuga caviar. Variations of carrot – pickled, puréed and bourbon-glazed – flank a pink pan-roasted breast of duckling served with savoury granola and a sloe and blackberry jus. A creamy custard tart enriched with duck eggs is sprinkled with nutmeg and teamed with rhubarb sorbet and purée.
